Melanie Derby's Project Lead the Way classes were assigned the task of creating a game that would be fun to play but also serve as a learning tool for students. The students worked in teams and followed the PLTW design process in order to develop their games. Students had four class periods to develop game cards and rules, and have a functioning prototype. The winner was Energy Bingo, a game in which students had to choose the best type of energy for various consumers. Students learned about different forms of energy, their pros and cons, and that there is not a single energy source that could be applied to every situation.
