Purpose of the Workshop

The workshop will provide an international forum for exchanging experiences and ideas about the theory and practice of using waste materials in construction and protective layers.  This workshop will concentrate especially on the environmental and economical prospects of the utilization of mechanical paper industry sludges.  Testing methods are suggested to form one major theme.

This third workshop will be targeted mainly to the representatives of industry and energy production, owners, consultants and constructors of infrastructure (landfills, roads, etc.), and researchers.
 

PLACE

The workshop seminar will be held in Helsinki University of Technology, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Espoo (Helsinki region), Finland, tel. +358-9-4511, address:  Rakentajanaukio 4.  Technical visits will be organized to West Uusimaa and Central Finland region, after which one night is spent in Himos Resort, Jämsä (Central Finland, near Jyväskylä).
 

DATES

The workshop seminar will be held on Tuesday 1 - Wednesday 2 June 1999.
Technical visits are arranged for Thursday 3 June 1999.
A post workshop excursion will be organized on Friday 4 - Saturday 5 June 1999.
