Workshop: Image and Text Rollovers (JavaScript)

Assignment:

Function: JavaScript rollovers permit some interactivity with the user/visitor to your web and serve a useful purpose because they indicate--that is, they should indicate--a link to another page.

Instructions: Please complete either Assignment 1 or Assignment 2:

Assignment 1. Using images that vary in one particular, such as color, but are otherwise identical, create an image rollover in JavaScript with a link to another page. If you like, use the images accessible at http://www.rpi.edu/~zappenj/Rensselaer/ (but select images of the same size, such as logo2a.gif and logo3a.gif or mascot1.gif and mascot2.gif).

Assignment 2. Using Photoshop, create a text logo and links (or use the text logo and links that you created in the Workshop on Text Logos and Links) and make a set of text rollovers suitable for use as navigation buttons on one of your own web pages.

Use the procedure Creating Image Rollovers in JavaScript, and please let me know if you encounter any difficulty so that if necessary I can revise the procedure. Create your rollovers in Dreamweaver if you prefer, but please be prepared to open the document source and revise the code as necessary.
