The ASME Tribology Division Best Paper Award is awarded annually to the paper judged to be the best of all papers accepted for publication in the Journal of Tribology during the previous year. The judges for the award are the Editorial Board of the Journal of Tribology and the Honors and Awards Chairman of the Tribology Division.
Two papers were selected as Best Paper of 2002, They are:
"Evaluation of Surface Pits on Stainless Steel Strip in Cold Rolling and Strip Drawing" by H.R. Le and M.P.F. Sutcliffe, Journal of Tribology, Vol. 125, No. 2, pp. 384-390, April 2003.
and
"Nano-scale Fatigue Wear of Carbon Nitride Coatings: Part 1- Wear Properties" by Dong F. Wang and Koji Kato, Journal of Tribology, Vol. 125, No. 2, pp. 430-436, April 2003.
