Hello, and welcome to my home page. I'm Michael Sofka and I work at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Prior to working at RPI, I worked for Publication Services, which is a typesetting company in Champaign Illinois. Champaign is home to the University of Illinois, where I received a master's in cognitive psychology under the tutelage of Brian Ross. My bachelor's degree, from Penn State, is also in psychology.
In my spare time I'm chairman of the TeX Users Group's Technical Working Group on DVI driver standards, and a member of the TUGBoat (the TeX Users Group's journal) production team. Some of my work with TeX is described in Color Book Production Using TeX, and TeX to HTML Translation via Tagged DVI Files.
In my spare time I'm learning Hungarian. Links for these and other a-vocations can be found in my (mostly) annotated bookmarks, and my recent and not so recent reading list.
