One copy of the abstract (not
exceeding 200 words) should be submitted by March 30, 1999 along with names of authors,
addresses (postal and e-mail), and phone/fax numbers. Indicate the name of the presenter.
A non-refundable processing fee of Rs.500/- for participants from India and US$ 25 for
participants from abroad should accompany the abstract. This fee will go towards the
conference registration fee. Participants from India are required to make the payments
through bank drafts drawn in favour of "Indian Institute of Management,
Ahmedabad." Participants from abroad are required to make the payments in the form of
a cheque drawn in favour of "Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute."
Abstract submissions from India and abroad along with
the non-refundable processing fee should be sent to the Program Chairs
respectively
Acceptance of submissions for the conference will be
notified within four weeks of the receipt of the abstract.
All accepted papers will be published in the
conference proceedings. The deadline for submission of complete papers for the proceedings
is June 30, 1999. In addition to the conference proceedings, a special issue of the
journal Vikalpa: The Journal for Decision Makers will also be published consisting of
invited papers and some selected papers accepted for the conference. The conference
proceedings will be distributed during the conference to all the delegates.
Guidelines for Authors
Text Preparation: Authors should send three copies of the
manuscript prepared using standard software packages WORD or WORDPERFECT. The text should
be double spaced with generous margins. An electronic version on the disk would be
required once the paper is accepted for publication. All tables and figures should be
prepared on separate sheets and should contain self-explanatory titles. Footnotes,
italics, and quote marks should be kept to the minimum. References should be complete in
all respects and arranged in alphabetical order.
In the text, the references should appear as follows: Dayal
(1989) has shown.......or Recent studies (Ramnarayan, 1989; Murthy,1989) indicate...
Journal reference should be listed as follows: Khandwalla,
PN(1988)."What Can Financial Institutions Do to Prevent Corporate
Sickness?"Vikalpa,Vol 13, No 4, pp 111-123.
Books should be referred to as follows: Jain, U (1987). The
Psychological Consequences of Crowding. New Delhi: Sage Publications.
At least one of the authors is required
to pre-register for the conference by June 30, 1999.
Hotel Accommodation: There are plenty of good hotels in Ahmedabad.
Arrangements are being worked out for special conference rates. The conference
participants will be sent relevant information.
Weather: It is a pleasant time to be in Ahmedabad. The days
would be comfortable and sunny. Day temperature would range between 40-60F (5-15C).
Social Events: Several social events, including the welcome
reception and conference dinner are being planned. The details will be announced in the
programme bulletin.
