I will put solutions to homeworks and exams
on reserve.
The library has information about using
Adobe Acrobat to view scanned documents.
It is possible to download free readers for
IBM PCs and Apple computers.
Adobe Acrobat is not installed on the RS6000s.

data file for question 2.10 are available.
An alternative model and
data file formulation
for question 2.10 is also available.
The solution to both formulations is also
available.
The models for the fall 1995
homework 3 questions on AMPL are also available.

- Project
- The project is now available.
- My model file and
data file are available.
- The sensitivity analysis
questions are available.
The solutions are available at the main desk in the library (ask for
Math 2 item number 10),
or
electronically in adobe acrobat format.
- The questions with extra conditions
are available.
- AMPL
is a mathematical programming and optimization modeling language
which is to be used to solve the project.
You can input your model into AMPL in a reasonably intuitive
way and it will use a solver (such as MINOS or CPLEX) for solving
the problem.
It is capable of solving linear, nonlinear, and integer programs.
There is a writeup for
using AMPL on the RCS system.
Some simple examples are available.
AMPL
sample files are available.
If you buy the AMPL textbook, it comes with an IBM PC-compatible
disk which you can use to run AMPL;
the disk includes versions of MINOS and CPLEX.
AMPL has WWW pages at
Northwestern and at
Bell Labs.
The Bell Labs page includes information about
updates, including information on downloading the latest
student version of the software.
There is information available about
other optimization packages on RCS.
You can look at my page for OR I in the
Fall 1995 semester.
