Using CPLEX 9.0 Callable Library on RCS

• This modification is necessary if you call CPLEX as a subroutine from code you've written in C. It appears that it is also necessary if you use AMPL. It is not necessary if you are running CPLEX on its own.
• Add the following line to your .bashrc file:

  export ILOG_LICENSE_FILE=/campus/ilog/cplex/9.0/common/access.ilm
  

  Note: Do NOT put this line in your .login_profile file.
  Again, you should make sure that your .bashrc file is working properly before logging out, by typing

  source .bashrc
  

• For instructions on installing cplex, see here.
• The callable library features of CPLEX allow you to call cplex as a subroutine from some other program. These instructions are not necessary if you call cplex from ampl, or if you use cplex as a standalone program.
• Here is an example Makefile for how to call the cplex libraries with a program lpex1.c.
• NOTE: these instructions have not been thoroughly tested. If you find that they are sufficient, or you have suggestions for improving them, please let me know!
