Learning + Me
I consider myself a full time learner, sure I take a summer break from schooling, but I'm constantly teaching my new things. I've taught myself most of what I know about PHP, Mysql, and Linux since I read a "how to setup your own webserver" article in PC Magazine back in 2000. I think its essential to have all the information before a project is started because if you can't think the entire idea through, chances are something fundamental will go wrong. Why do I learn? Well I like to help other people, and my approach with computers, and really anything I learn, it to make it relatable. Sure, some people might understand C++, Word, Windows, etc. but not everyone, if you can take the knowledge you've gathered and apply it in a way that helps others, I think you're doing a great job.
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Currently I am a sophmore at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute located in Troy, NY. My major is Computer and Systems Engineering where I look forward to studing both the hardware and software ends of modern computing. As a sophmore I'm still working to meet several of the prerequisites of the upper level, and more interesting, computer courses but I have taken some relavent courses to my interest such far. Computer Science 1, Computer Science 2, Data Structures and Algorithms, Computer Architecture, Database Systems, and Intro to Perl. At the end of my third semester here I have a GPA of 3.39

South Hadley High School
I graduated from South Hadley High School in 2006, effectively completing my k-12 education. While at South Hadley High School I developed a daily news show the "Tiger Times" which continues to broadcast daily on the schools internal TV network. I also developed a custom message board application to allow the Main Office staff to post updates announcements on the TV network in near real time (<30 sec delay). After the initial version was realised I worked with Mach 3 Software to create version 2, and currently version 3 is under development, rewriting the code in VB .net to support the application in future system upgrades. I was also a member in the schools chapter of National Honor Society where I was elected webmaster.
