  National Science Foundation sponsored research focused on the development of a suitable metallization scheme for ohmic contact formation to GaAs, with particular emphasis on interface structure and high temperature thermal stability. Co-deposited materials using the partially ionized beam deposition technique. The resulting alloys were characterized using X-ray 2 theta and pole figure analysis, Rutherford backscattering spectrometry and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.

Designed, constructed, calibrated and operated a microscope-based computer-controlled optical densitometer to analyze X-ray transmission patterns recorded on photographic film.   Member of a diagnostics engineering group which supported semiconductor manufacturing lines. Performed programming support on a project which would allow the detection of trends early and automatically, daily monitoring of in-line electrical data and the initiation of action plans if specifications were not met. Co-authored a technical report on problems associated with test sites on newer versions of a product.

  Diagnostics engineering. Primary goal was the improvement of process yields. Performed statistical analysis of data from process sectors, programming and program maintenance, laboratory verification of data taken automatically and scrutinization of parameter limits where appropriate. Completed technical report explaining why a particular parameter was prone to failure on specific products.
