Thursday October 23rd:

9:30 -10:30 am: Registration, Welcome from Robert Mayo, Acting Director of the Rensselaer Libraries. Location: Architecture Library, Greene Building, 3rd floor. Coffee & pastries sponsored by Rensselaer Libraries.

10:30 am -12:00 noon: Individual Chapter Business Meetings. Location: Architecture Library

12:00-2:00 PM: Lunch on campus or area restaurants. On campus location: Rensselaer Union, Room 3202.

2:00-3:30 PM: Electronic Arts @ Rensselaer presentations by Mary Anne Staniszewski, Associate Professor and Acting Head of the Arts Department, and Michael Oatman, Artist and Associate Professor in the School of Architecture. Michael's talk is titled The Body in the Archives. Location: Folsom Library, Fischbach Room

3:30-4:00 PM: Break sponsored by Upstate NY VRA chapter. Location: Krause Lounge.

4:00-5:30 PM: The Rensselaer Library's Digital Collections presentations by Jeanne Keefe, Visual Resources Librarian, Tammy Gobert, Automation Archivist and Judith Frangos, Media Librarian. Introduction by Frances Scott, Librarian / Architecture, Experimental Media and the Arts; moderated by Kathryn Dunn, Technology & Metadata Librarian. Location: Folsom Library, Fischbach Room

5:30-6:00 PM: Exhibitions @ Rensselaer

6:00 PM: Dinner and a Movie. Welcome from Mark Mistur, Acting Dean of the School of Architecture, followed by a catered dinner in the School's Greene Gallery. During dessert and coffee, the showing of a short film entitled Sittin on a Million, produced by two graduates of Rensselaer's Electronic Media, Arts, and Communication (EMAC) program. Location: School of Architecture, Greene Building, Greene Gallery, 2nd floor.

Friday October 24th:

9:00 -10:00 AM: Coffee & pastries sponsored by Archivision Inc. Location: Folsom Library, Krause Lounge,

10:00-11:30 AM: Tour and lecture in the newly opened EMPAC (Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center) building, designed by Nicholas Grimshaw & Partners. Click here for recent NY Times article on the EMPAC opening. Location: Lobby of EMPAC.

11:30-11:45 AM: Coffee & pastries sponsored by New England VRA chapter.

11:45-1:00 PM: Accurate Spacial Audio Reproduction of Music Performances for Archival and Telecommunication Purposes. Jonas Braasch, Assistant Professor, School of Architecture's Program of Architectural Acoustics and affiliate faculty of EMPAC, will present from the unique perspective of being both and artist/musician and an acoustical expert. Location: School of Architecture, Greene Building, Greene Gallery, 2nd floor.
