5/3-5/7 FINAL EXAM WEEK

*Definition Due – must assignment.

Parts of Chapters 2, 3, 4 & 5 will be assigned in conjunction with relevant parts of the semester's work.

There are 5 multiple choice exams, each 50± questions. First four exams determine whether you must take COMP. The PAPER OR the COMP adjust the cumulative score of first four exams. If you get a D or below on first four exams, or you miss one or more of them you must take and pass COMP to pass course. Everyone must do a passing paper. Majority of questions (± 60%) from text, remainder from class notes.

After the class responses are analyzed, only questions that are psychometrically justifiable are retained for scoring. Individual exams are assigned grades based upon the top performer's score (=100%) such that >90%=A, >80%=B, etc. Such letter grades are advisory. Your final grade follows from your cumulative score for all work.

The comp covers only the material of the first four quizzes. The date of the comp is set by the Registrar's Office (FEW). Everyone must take exam. The penalty for not taking exam 5 and/or the comp, if required, will be an F no matter what the quality of your other work. No make-up exams without a documented excuse.

The written public policy exam paper will be given a weight equal to a multiple choice exam. It also counts instead of your lowest exam grade on one of the first four exams, (if it is in your interest to make this adjustment). If you take the COMP this is not an option.

Grades will be determined by the five exams, the paper and extra credit exercises. More details forthcoming on extra credit exercises.

Students with an F advance grade must pass both the COMP and Quiz 5 to pass course.

Materials to help you prepare for the exams will be made available on class website. Notes on a handwritten 3x5 card, one side may be used.

Exam results will be posted by your four digit code. ALL submitted work must bear this number and your printed surname. Exams and take home exams are not returned, although you are free to examine them by appointment with the TA. Exams will be reviewed in class as soon as possible after they are scored.
