Overview

For years the United States and several countries around the world have used gasoline to power their automobiles. However, this gasoline is causing severe environmental damage and is becoming very costly as we see the price of a gallon of gas soar to the heights of three and four dollars. To counter this, cars powered by alternative fuels are being developed that will eventually take over the role of the gasoline powered vehicle in today's society. Each of these alternatively fueled cars is unique in their own right and each has its own sets of advantages and disadvantages.
