While the D-Day battle at Normandy is arguably the most significant
victory for the Allies during World War II, the Raid on Dieppe,
although considered a controversial defeat, proved to be a
significant battle as well.

The Allies learned from their mistakes in Operation Jubilee,
and in doing so, paved the way to victory in Operation Overlord.
