Rahaga

These six beings, their forms a mix between Turaga and Rahkshi, live in the shadows of Metru Nui. Since the coming of the Visorak, they have been working to capture Rahi and save them from the hordes. Now they must teach the Toa Hordika to master their new forms and abilities, and try to keep them from giving in to their Rahi sides.

History

The Rahaga were once Toa Hagah, an elite team of Toa. After being transformed into hideous shrunken beings by servants of Makuta, they traveled to Metru Nui, knowing the Visorak hordes would eventually come there. Hiding in the shadows of the City of Legends, they began plotting to defeat the Visorak and free the lands the hordes had overrun.

Biography

Norik

Once leader of the Toa Hagah, Norik still directs the Rahaga's plans. One of his reasons for coming to Metru Nui was in hope of finding the legendary Keetongu. This mighty Rahi has the power to destroy all the works of the Visorak- if he actually exists. While searching for Keetongu, Norik spends his time catching Rahi reptiles and hiding them from the Visorak.

Gaaki

Gaaki is especially skilled at translation. She is the one who found the information on Keetongu which guides the Rahaga and Hordika on their search. Her floater spinner is used underwater. It attaches to aquatic Rahi and brings them to the surface. Gaaki's wisdom has proved valuable in protecting Nokama from giving in to her Hordika side.

Bomonga

Stealthy Bomonga captures the furtive species that elude other Rahaga, such as insects and nocturnal Rahi. His spinner travels noiselessly and paralyzes the target on contact, allowing Bomonga to transport it to a safe place in the Onu-Metru Archives.

Pouks

Rahaga may be small creatures, but Pouks captures and rescues Metru Nui's largest Rahi. He uses his bolo spinner to knock the legs out from under Muaka and Kikanalo, allowing him to catch them and find them a refuge from the Visorak. Pouks has the difficult task of dealing with Onewa Hordika, whose temper makes him easily controlled by his Rahi half.

Iruini

Iruini puts little trust in ancient legends and doubts that Keetongu is genuine. His motive for coming to Metru Nui was simple: vengeance on Roodaka and the Visorak. He tries to thwart their plans by capturing climbing Rahi and hiding them from the Visorak hordes. Iruini is skilled at tracking and at tricking Rahi into his traps. His snag spinner then immobilizes them by weaving an energy net around their legs.

Kualus

All the Rahaga make a study of the Rahi they rescue, but Kualus takes this interest farther than any. He studies creatures that fly, and has even learned their language, communicating with birds and ice bats in a string of whistles and clicks. His boomerang Rhotuka can attach to a flier and safely carry it to him. Nuju, who is often with Kualus, has begun learning the language of the fliers from him.

Toa Hagah

The six beings called Rahaga were once Toa, and not any ordinary Toa group. They were called Toa Hagah, after the Matoran word for "guardian", because their duty was to defend Makuta, the protector of all Matoran. To accomplish this task, they were gifted with special armor, weapons, and Rhotuka spinners. But Makuta, as they discovered, had become evil, plotting to enslave Matoran and conquer an empire. The Toa Hagah began a campaign against the Brotherhood of Makuta, attacking several of their fortresses and stealing the Mask of Light and the Makoki stones. Eventually, they battled Makuta himself and acheived a draw, forcing him to retreat. But four of the Toa were captured in this struggle. Norik and Iruini trailed the captors and found that their comrades had been turned into a mixture of Hagah and Rahkshi by Roodaka's mutation spinners. The two remaining Toa freed their comrades, but not without being themselves mutated into Rahaga. Roodaka allowed them to escape, foolishly believing they were no longer a threat. The Rahaga continued to secretly battle the Visorak. After travelling to Metru Nui, they hid the Mask of Light and Makoki Stones, and waited for an opportunity to strike back at their enemies.
