What awaits the heroes of Voya Nui in this year's story? Little is known for certain, but the archivists have guessed at the truth.

The new story will take place in the land of Mahri Nui, which is the section of Voya Nui that sank beneath the ocean several hundred years ago. There are still Matoran living here, and the Toa Inika were seen traveling by tunnel toward this place. The Mask of Life sank into the water here after it was retrieved by the Inika. It is the belief of the Chief Archivist that traveling to Mahri Nui is necessary to save the life of Mata Nui, and that the Mask of Life traveled there so the Inika would follow.

All seven Piraka remain on Voya Nui, but they do not seem to be a threat at the moment. Rather, rumors abound that the Toa Inika will have to face a new set of foes, known as "Barraki".
