Toa Inika

Six new Toa have appeared on Voya Nui and challenged the Piraka! The word "Inika" means "energy of a star", and the Toa Inika are charged with strange energy. They wield elemental powers mixed with lightning, their Toa tools crackle with electricity, and even their faces give off a blinding glow when not covered by a mask. Armed with the wisdom of past Toa and knowledge of their foes, Voya Nui's new heroes are a threat the Piraka would do well to fear.

History

Six Matoran from the island of Mata Nui made a perilous journey to Voya Nui to find the Toa Nuva and recover the Mask of Life. They washed up on the shores of the Island of Doom riding in Toa canisters during a powerful thunderstorm. A bolt of lightning from a strange red star struck the canisters. When the passengers emerged, they were no longer Matoran. They were gifted with the forms, weapons, and masks of Toa. And they were gifted with a Toa's duty: to defeat the Piraka, free Voya Nui, and find the Mask of Life.

Biography

Toa Jaller

Jaller Inika

Jaller has learned from the tales of past Toa of Fire. He intends to be a wise leader of the Toa Inika, and carefully lays out the team's plans. His weapons are an energized flame sword and a zamor sphere launcher. Strangest of Jaller's new posessions is his Kanohi Calix, the Great Mask of Fate. This chance-twisting mask allows Jaller to perform feats that seem impossible.

Toa Hahli

Hahli Inika

The new Toa of Water has the most important role on the team. Hahli wears Kanohi Elda, the Great Mask of Detecion. This Kanohi allows her to track down the Mask of Life and lead the Inika to it, no matter where it is. Hahli's Toa tool is a powerful laser harpoon.

Toa Nuparu

Nuparu Inika

Nuparu was once one of Onu-Koro's greatest inventors. As Toa Inika of Earth, he continues to build equipment for his comrades. His Toa tool is a laser drill, and he wears Kanohi Kadin, the Mask of Flight. Using this mask, he can fly at great speed and act as a scout for the Toa Inika.

Toa Hewkii

Hewkii Inika

Armored in gray and yellow, Hewkii is the first known Toa of Stone not colored brown. Wielding a laser axe and a zamor launcher, he is ready to battle the Piraka just as he battled his opponents on the kolhii field. Hewkii's mask is Kanohi Sanok, the Great Mask of Accuracy, which allows him to pick up objects and strike targets with amazing precision.

Toa Kongu

Kongu Inika

On the way to Voya Nui, Kongu found a Kanohi Suletu, the Great Mask of Telepathy. When he became a Toa, he gained the ability to use this mask, but unfortunately did not gain the knowledge of how to deactivate it. He now hears his friends' thoughts as if they had been spoken. Combined with Kongu's quick-speaking, impulsive nature, this can lead to trouble. Kongu wields the elemental power of air and a laser crossbow, which fires arrows of energy that destroy any target they hit.

Toa Matoro

Matoro Inika

Though Matoro is brave and trustworthy, he is still uncomfortable with his new role as Toa of Ice. He wears Kanohi Iden, the Great Mask of Spirit. This allows him to release his astral form, an invisible entity that can travel quickly and pass through solid objects. Matoro carries an energized ice sword and a zamor sphere launcher. The Mask of Life seems to have chosen Matoro for its destined keeper.

Weaponry

The Toa Inika carry powerful energized weapons given to them when they became Toa. They also carry zamor launchers filled with energized protodermis, made for them by the Matoran resistance. The energized protodermis can destroy the antidermis carried by the Piraka's zamor, freeing enslaved Matoran from the Piraka's command. Each Inika also has a new Great Mask, with strange powers never seen before.
