These are the known events commemorating the bicentennial of the birth of Andrew Meneely. The Gateway is grateful to its many partners for making this wide range of events possible.

12:00 noon

Brown-bag lunchtime lecture about Meneely bells by P. Thomas Carroll, Executive Director of Hudson Mohawk Industrial Gateway, at Saratoga Springs Heritage Area Visitor Center, followed by ringing of Troy Meneely peal of bells at nearby Bethesda Episcopal Church. Call 518-587-3241 for information.

1:00-3:00 pm

Lecture on Meneely bells by William H. Skerritt at Rensselaer County Historical Society, plus ringing of rare Hanks bell and publication of Sydney Ross, The Bell Casters of Troy. $15/$10 members, with complimentary copy of booklet. Call 518-272-7232 for information.

Unveiling of special Meneely bell exhibit at Burden Iron Works Museum, 1 East Industrial Parkway. Troy. The exhibit will remain up and be visible by appointment for six months. Call 518-274-5267 for information.

Cash bell history reception at Troy Pub & Uncle Sam Brewery, with ceremonial ringing of bell donated by Senator Joseph L. Bruno at 3:00 pm. Public is welcome. Call 518-274-5267 for information.
