Arrival Coordinator Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

The Office of International Services for Students and Scholars (ISSS) plans to hire one Arrival Coordinator for the Fall 2005 International orientation.  The Coordinator will be responsible for becoming acquainted with the Welcome Packet information in order to be able to answer the most common questions asked by new students: where to eat, how to open a bank account, where is my department located, etc.

The Arrival Coordinator will also be responsible for:

 

The Arrival Coordinator is expected to participate in ALL Orientation Activities. He/She will also act as a backup person for the Housing Coordinator when he/she is not available. He/She will also be responsible to provide the ISSS Office with a written evaluation of the Orientation Program by the Friday following Orientation.

Time Commitment

In order to be considered for this position you must be available for all of the dates/times stated above.

Stipend - $500.00

 

Qualifications

Students must have been enrolled for at least two semesters at Rensselaer and have attended the Orientation program when he/she first arrived at Rensselaer. He/She must also have good knowledge of the English Language, good communication skills, willingness to help students from all over the world, and possess a sense of responsibility and commitment. Preference will be given to students who have volunteered for past orientations.
