Advisors

Director of Academic Advising

The Director of Academic Advising reviews all requests of undergraduate students for late program adjustments, dropping or adding courses. The office is located in the Russell Sage Building, Room 2106.

Academic Advisors

Both undergraduate and graduate students have academic advisors assigned to them.

Advisors are as different as the individuals themselves. Some advisors may remain very formal toward their advisees, while others may become quite close. Graduate student advisors may play a more active role in the student's academic life, especially as it relates to their research.

Advisors are not expected to be responsible for the details of knowing all the academic requirements of the students. Students are expected to learn their curriculum requirements which can be found in the catalogues. Students must also assume the initiative in asking their advisors for help if they encounter any academic problem.

International Student Advisor

The Assistant Dean of Students is also the International Student Advisor. The International Student Advisor provides advice on immigration regulations and personal, financial, social and cultural issues.
