| RAA Fellows Award: David Chi-Hoo Ho 86
David Chi-Hoo Ho 86 will receive the Rensselaer Alumni Association (RAA) Fellows Award from the Department of Computer Science on Saturday, Oct. 4 at an alumni reception in Hong Kong.
He is the founder of Macys Candies in Hong Kong, the largest chocolate producer in Hong Kong. He is a board member of the Po Leung Kok Organization, which, for more than 100 years, has assisted women and children and establishes schools for the disadvantaged. He was honored recently when the Po Leung Kok David Ho Elementary School was named in his honor.
Ho also serves as vice president of the Rensselaer Alumni Chapter of Hong Kong. In celebration of the birth of his first son, he set up the Darren Ho Endowment Fund at Rensselaer to help needy students with young children.
The RAA Fellows Award honors those alumni or non-alumni of Rensselaer who, by their achievements in a chosen profession or endeavor or by their service to the Institute, have set an example for Rensselaer men and women to emulate.
Ho received a bachelors degree in management engineering from Rensselaer in 1986 and an masters degree in operations research from Cornell in 1987.
