"One of the best parts about Fall Fest is
that it's really for anyone and everyone," said Cynthia Smith,
assistant dean in the Office of the FYE. "There will be music
and activities for young children, older students, and adults-for
people of all ages."
Smith said the office has already lined up entertainers
Alex Torres and the Latin Kings, Hair of the Dog, Southside Johnny
and the Asbury Jukes, the Persuasions, and WRPI. Street performers,
face-painters, and a popular children's television show character,
Arthur the Aardvark, will entertain. Area elementary school children
working on science projects for "ZOOM into Engineering"
a program run by the Junior Museum, public television station
WMHT, and Rensselaer aimed at getting kids excited about careers
in engineering have also been invited. Engineering's Formula
One race car will make an appearance as well.
