A Day of Remembrance and Community:

To observe the anniversary of last year's terrorist
attacks, Rensselaer students, faculty, and staff attended a memorial
service on Sept. 11 in the Alumni Sports and Recreation Center.
Members of the student orchestra provided a solemn backdrop to
the event, which featured speakers President Shirley Ann Jackson,
Grand Marshal Chris Mather '03, President of the Union Zachary
Ament '03, Elizabeth Large, 2002 Pillar of Rensselaer, Graduate
Council President Vishnu Priya Tekumalla, and Faculty Senate President
Peter Persans. An Interfaith Service of Remembrance followed.
