Rensselaer Start-ups Present at National Venture
Forum
Three companies that got their start in the Rensselaer
Incubator have been selected to present their business plans to
venture capitalists, angel investors, bankers, and private lenders
at one of the country's largest and most important clean energy
venture forums.
Crystal
IS Inc., Starfire
Systems Inc., and Ecosystem
Projects LLC will pitch to businessmen at the 15th annual
National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Industry Growth Forum
Oct. 29 and 30 at the Desmond Hotel in Albany. Just 46 companies
from across the US were invited to present.
Crystal
IS uses single-crystal aluminum nitride substrates to cost-effectively
produce high power, high temperature, and optoelectronic devices.
Starfire
designs, fabricates, markets, and distributes pre-ceramic polymers
for ceramic composites.
Ecosystem
markets environmentally beneficial methods of disposing sewage
sludge and municipal solid waste.
"These presentations will generate more national
interest for the Incubator-as well as technology and innovation
at Rensselaer in general," said Simon Balint, acting director
of the Incubator Program.
The NREL Industry Growth Forum provides clean
energy companies with expert advice and introductions to the venture
capital community. More than 100 financiers will attend this year's
conference, which is sponsored in part by the Incubator Program.
