Center Sponsors Two Career Fairs Oct. 23
On Wednesday, Oct. 23, from noon to 4 p.m., the Career Development
Center (CDC) will be sponsoring two career fairs on campus. The
career fairs are aimed primarily at students in the schools of
Humanities and Social Sciences and Architecture.
The Creative Technologies Career
Fair, directed at humanities and social sciences majors and co-sponsored
by that school as well as the student chapter of the American
Institute of Graphic Artists, will be held at the Heffner Alumni
House. This is the first-ever career fair in the creative technologies
field for the CDC. Employers such as Flipside and DVD-USA from
New York City will send representatives to campus while MTV Networks,
Blue Sky Studios, IBM, and others will have a "virtual"
presence, and resumes will be forwarded to them electronically.
Approximately 20 employers will be represented at the fair, which
the CDC considers a "great turnout considering this is a
first-time event," said Diane Leis Delker, associate director
of the CDC.
Across campus in the gallery of the
Greene Building, the CDC and the School of Architecture will host
the third annual Architecture Career Fair. Representatives from
firms across the United States will be attending. In previous
years, over 150 architecture students have come to this event.
For more information on the Creative
Technologies Career Fair, contact Delker at
leisdd@rpi.edu. For the Architecture Career Fair, contact
