Transitions We are excited about Peter joining our staff,"
said Mark Rea, of the LRC. "He solidifies and extends our longstanding
commitment to energy efficiency." The LRC's mission is to advance
the effective use of lighting for society and the environment. "Peter
has always been a source of wisdom for the LRC, including serving
as a guest lecturer in our Graduate Leadership classes. We're looking
forward to working with him on a daily basis." While at Northeast Utilities, Morante managed one of the most successful demand-side management programs in the nation. He has also assisted several countries in Europe and Asia in establishing energy conservation programs. 10/14/02

New Student Publication Hits the Streets With a primary mission to fill the void left by The
Gorgon in 1999, the editorial team of Mark Anderson '02, William
Bobrowski '02, S. Eliza Bonner '02, and Chris Gill '02 decided last
October to start a literary periodical to serve the campus community. Although its name comes from the two hecklers on The
Muppet Show, Editor-in-Chief Gill said, "As things were progressing,
we came to a point and said, 'maybe this isn't as wacky as it seems.'
" An overwhelming sentiment among the founders is that the campus needed another media voice. That need drove them to invest time into the publication plans, said Gill. Composed mainly of four sections news analysis,
culture, humor, and editorial/opinion Statler and Waldorf
also publishes non-staff, student-written selections. The magazine was approved and budgeted for 12 issues annually by the Union E-board. The next issue is scheduled for Oct. 8. 10/7/02
