Malaysian Night
In
honor of a visit to Rensselaer by the Malaysian Ambassador to
the United States Oct. 25, an audience of more than 130 people,
including students from Rensselaer and Cornell, Rensselaer officials,
and Malaysian embassy and consular representatives, attended "Malaysian
Night: A Heritage." H.E. Dato' Ghazzali Sheikh Abdul Khalid
and his delegation were on campus to show support for Rensselaer's
significant Malaysian student population and to recognize the
Institute for the academic training it provides to those students.
The
evening's events, which took place at the Heffner Alumni House,
included a talk by Ambassador Ghazzali titled "Malaysia and
Challenges Ahead," followed by dinner and a series of cultural
performances. The program was organized by the Malaysian Students
Association of Rensselaer.
