As a private educational and research
institution, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute welcomes
the opportunity to assist the media with stories
that help to advance the understanding of higher
education, campus life, scientific research, technology
transfer, and other topics.
Rensselaer seeks always to be responsive
to the needs of the media and accurate in its communication.
The media are regularly welcomed to
many campus events such as sporting events, exhibitions,
commencement exercises, and press conferences.
Such media invitations are clearly
made by the media relations office, the sports information
office, or other established Rensselaer organization
or division.
In those instances, where the media
want to interview members of the Rensselaer community,
the media must first contact the Office of Media Relations.
Because Rensselaer is a private university,
located on private property, members of the media
may not come onto campus to photograph, record,
or interview faculty, staff, students, and guests
without the permission and assistance of the Office
of Media Relations. This policy helps Rensselaer
conduct its educational and research mission in
an orderly and effective manner and protects the
rights and needs of its students, faculty, staff,
and guests.
To reach the Office of Media Relations,

Public Safety at 518-276-6611.
