School of Engineering Research Awards
The first-ever School of Engineering Research
Awards were recently announced. This newly established annual
award, created by School of Engineering Dean Bud Baeslack
’78 in concert with the goals of The Rensselaer Plan,
recognizes outstanding faculty and staff for their research
accomplishments. In this inaugural year, the achievements
of 10 faculty members were recognized. They each received
a $2,000 honorarium. Recipients were selected by an awards
committee consisting of faculty from the School of Engineering.
The scope of these School of Engineering Awards will be
broadened in the future to include teaching and research
at both graduate and undergraduate levels.
