The two-year initiative is a partnership
among government, private industry, and academic institutions
including Rensselaer, the University of Connecticut, and
Yale University. It will focus on the development of the
next generation of technological systems for both military
and civilian applications, as well as assisting other organizations
in technology advances.
"Rensselaer, through its campus in
Hartford, Conn., is proud to be a collaborator in this endeavor,"
said President Shirley Ann Jackson. "This center will
be another catalyst for Rensselaer to further expand its
Connecticut-based engineering and research programs, to
drive economic development, and to further the goals of
creating a thriving hub for science and technology in the
Hartford region."
The grant will be administered through the
UConn Business and Law Schools.
