MDL Hold Open House: Haas Technical Center Dedicated

The O.T. Swanson Multidisciplinary Design Laboratory (MDL) hosted an open house on April 30 that included displays and demonstrations of student projects and a ribbon-cutting ceremony to dedicate the Haas Technical Center.

Haas Factory Outlet, a division of Allendale Machinery Systems Inc., and Haas Automation Inc. have established 30 technical centers at schools throughout the U.S. In the MDL, several pieces of equipment from Haas were installed earlier in the semester and have been used by students working on their MDL projects. This equipment will be rotated out every two years to ensure that the machines are state-of-the-art. The O.T. Swanson MDL's Haas Technical Center enables engineering students to work with machines used in industry to give the students real-life experience.
