Japanese Drumming Troupe at West Hall

Taikoza, a Japanese percussion group, gave a free performance March 22 in the West Hall Auditorium. Approximately 120 attended the show, sponsored by the Rensselaer Union Performing Arts Committee. Drawing from Japan's rich tradition of music and performance, Taikoza uses the powerful rhythms of taiko drums “to create an electrifying energy that carries audiences in a new dimension of excitement.” The taiko is a large, barrel-like drum.
