Freedman Receives NSF CAREER Award; Research Will Improve Surveillance, MRI TechnologyDaniel Freedman, assistant professor of computer science, has been awarded a Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award from the National Science Foundation.

Freedman's $350,000 five-year grant will enable him to develop a new automated visual tracking system that could improve surveillance and MRI technology. More

Engineers Final Surge Ends in Semis
Ice hockey forward Marc Cavosie '03 has been named ECAC Player of the Year. Cavosie, a junior from Cohoes, N.Y., is the league's season leader in goals, assists, and points. He is one of 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award, given to the nation's top collegiate hockey player. Cavosie and the Engineers advanced to ECAC Championships at Lake Placid where they met defeat by Cornell. The team took the consolation match with a 4-3 victory over Clarkson. More

Transition and Pricing Plan Announced on Graduate School Tuition
Tuition for full-time graduate students will move from a per-credit-hour approach to a flat academic year tuition set at the same rate as for undergraduates. For graduate students who are already enrolled, the Institute has established a transition plan that will allow them to continue their studies at a reduced cost during a specified transition period.
