Lynn LaChance Appointed
Executive Director, Connecticut Quality Council, Rensselaer
at Hartford
Lynn LaChance has been appointed executive
director, Connecticut Quality Council (CQC), located at
Rensselaer at Hartford. The CQC Board of Governors approved
the motion for the appointment, after LaChance had been
serving as acting manager of CQC since March 2003. CQC is
associated with the Professional Development Programs organization
at Rensselaer at Hartford.
LaChance received a B.S. in finance from
the University of Connecticut and an M.S. in computer science,
with a concentration in information systems, from Rensselaer
at Hartford. She has more than 10 years of experience in
the financial services and insurance industries and ran
her own small business for approximately three years prior
to joining Rensselaer. LaChance most recently worked at
Rensselaer for the past four years as manager of computer
information technology at the Rensselaer Learning Institute.
CQC is a private, nonprofit coalition of
business, government, education, and labor that promotes
the philosophy and principles of total quality and continuous
improvement as a sound business operating strategy for all
organizations. In the fall of 1990, Rensselaer at Hartford
joined with 27 business leaders in the founding of CQC.
In the spring of this year, the CQC Board of Governors voted
to maintain their affiliation and partnership with Rensselaer.
Membership in CQC is organizational rather
than individual in recognition of the need to involve the
entire organization — people, culture, change —
in the effort to focus on continuous improvement in services,
processes, and/or products that satisfy customer needs.
CQC has become a respected and valued resource for high-caliber,
low-cost total quality education and training (both experiential
and traditional) as well as for professional networking
and information sharing with fellow practitioners. Rensselaer
and CQC strive to work for a fully developed coalition of
business, government, labor, education, and community.
