"These rankings are indicative of the
respect that our graduate programs and departments have
earned among their peers. I am proud of our faculty, staff,
and students who continue to contribute to the quality and
relevance of our graduate programs," said William "Bud"
Baeslack '78, dean of engineering.
"The hiring of more than 20 new junior
and senior faculty during this past year in key research
focus areas, the creation of new faculty constellations
in IT and biotechnology, and construction of the new Center
for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies will serve
to further advance the excellence and reputation of Rensselaer's
graduate programs," said Baeslack.
"As we further implement the Rensselaer
Plan, we fully expect to see all of our programs advance
in the rankings, and some ultimately into the top 10,"
Baeslack said.
