Rensselaer Featured in Kaplan College
Guide
Rensselaer is one of the schools featured
in the 2002-2003 Kaplan college guide, The Unofficial, Unbiased,
Insider's Guide to the 320 Most Interesting Colleges (Kaplan
Inc./Simon & Schuster).
"Rensselaer's
facilities and research programs give new meaning to the
words cutting edge," said Trent Anderson, an editor
of the guide. "Look for new developments in biotech
and IT."
The guide aims to give prospective college
applicants real-world advice straight from the mouths of
those who have "been there, done that." This year's
guide features the results of Kaplan's national guidance
counselor survey and Rensselaer student observations about
campus academic and social life.

"When you are here, you know that your
friends are going to really do amazing things in your life,"
said a management information systems and international
business major.
"Students usually are more collaborative
than competitive," said another Rensselaer student
about the interactive learning and studio classroom environment.
"Professors [are] concerned about students, not just
research."
The guide retails for $20 and is on newsstands
in July.
