Rensselaer is committed to working with the community to minimize the impact of the South Campus Development projects. Timely and accurate information will be made available to the public throughout the construction and development period. Rensselaer's public information plan utilizes monthly public meetings, mailed bulletins, a telephone hotline, media and the Internet to notify the community, whenever possible, in advance of construction activities, road closings, alternative traffic routes and utility disruptions.

This month's public information meeting will be held Monday, July 22, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm to be held on the lower level of the Heffner Alumni House. (The Heffner House is located on the south side of Peoples Ave., across from the intersection of 13th Street.)

During the month of July, the following activities will
take place on the building site for the biotechnology
and interdisciplinary studies building:

• Complete site fencing
• Continued excavation
• Bank retention begins at infirmary
• New east-west water line will be installed at existing entry
• Rear wall will be demolished
• Drive and install temporary rear wall
• Install new underground electric and
telecomm lines
• Start building foundations
• Installation of temporary building electric
• Installation of tower crane
• Tie-in utilities
• Open expanded Academy Hall parking lot

During the month of July, the following activities will take place on the parking garage and infrastructure site:

• Open new entrance gates on College Avenue
• Relocate parking from the north side of College Avenue to the south side
• Demolition of buildings at 69, 77 and 79 College Avenue
• Relocate generator, transformer and remove bollards
• Remove curbing and sidewalks on the north side of College Avenue at parking garage construction site
• Begin installation of construction fencing
• Close parking lot adjacent to Cogswell Building loading dock
• Create new resident-only parking on College Avenue
