Deadline for Pillars of Rensselaer Nominations Friday!
Nominations for the 2002 Pillars of Rensselaer Award, the highest honor bestowed upon employees of the Institute, are due Friday (July 19). The Pillars of Rensselaer Award is presented annually to a staff member who demonstrates understanding of the Institute's mission and history, has been a role model for other employees, showed concern for students and their welfare, added to the human dimension of the school, and who has played an active role in his or her home community. The nominee must be employed in a staff role for at least 10 years.

The award was established in 1993 by Carl Westerdahl, former dean of students and director of alumni relations, to honor a long-term staff member.

Hydrant Flushing July 22-26
The Physical Plant will flush Institute-owned fire hydrants on campus beginning Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
During flushing operations, you may experience temporary discoloration in water and possible reduced water pressure. If discoloration in tap water occurs, let the water run until clear before using. Using the colored or turbid water may stain clothes, so it is advised to avoid washing clothes during the flushing.
