  ESSENCE Recognizes President Jackson as One of the 50 Most Inspiring African-Americans
 

Rensselaer President Shirley Ann Jackson has been recognized alongside Colin Powell, Halle Berry, Oprah Winfrey, Maya Angelou, and Condoleezza Rice, in a recently published book by ESSENCE titled 50 of The Most Inspiring African-Americans.

The book features African-Americans who are breaking barriers in a number of fields, including politics, education, and entertainment. More

Broadband Center Receives $600,000 in IBM Equipment

Rensselaer's IBM Center for Broadband Data Transport Science and Technology has received $600,000 worth of equipment through the IBM Shared University Research (SUR) Program.

The equipment — a combination of computer hardware and software — will be used to develop a computer cluster and CAD (computer-aided design) tools. The cluster will include a server to support the interaction between Rensselaer researchers and IBM scientists, engineers, and designers. More

WMHT Plans Move to MapInfo Building in Tech Park

WMHT Educational Telecommunications has announced that it plans to move into the former headquarters of MapInfo Corporation in the Rensselaer Technology Park instead of building a new facility as was originally announced in November 2001. More
