Call for Nominations: Phalanx, Honorary Phalanx, White Key Society, and Who's Who

Phalanx, Rensselaer's senior leadership honorary society, is accepting nominations for the White Key Society, Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, and its own student and honorary memberships. Nominations are due no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31 in the Office of the First-Year Experience on the fourth floor of the Troy Building.

The White Key Society honors early leadership and service in Rensselaer activities demonstrated by freshmen and sophomores. Who's Who, a national publication profiling the country's most outstanding juniors, seniors, and graduate students, recognizes their scholastic and community achievements. Also for juniors, seniors, and graduate students only, Phalanx acknowledges Rensselaer students who have distinguished themselves among their peers in the areas of leadership, service, and devotion to their alma mater. Lastly, Honorary Phalanx spotlights Rensselaer faculty and staff with over five years of service who embody the same qualities as its student membership.

To download a nomination form, click on http://www.union.rpi.edu/honor_nom_03.pdf. For more information, contact Jennifer Spear '03, Phalanx's current president, at spearj@rpi.edu or Cynthia Smith, assistant dean in the Office of the First Year Experience, at smithc@rpi.edu or ext. 6864. 1/13/03

Rensselaer to Host Business Plan Workshop Jan. 22

The Severino Center for Technological Entrepreneurship at the Lally School of Management and Technology is holding a workshop titled "How to Write a Successful Business Plan" on Wednesday, Jan. 22, from 6-8 p.m. at the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce office in Colonie.
