Way to Snowplow Safety
Changing the lighting system on the back of snowplow trucks
could reduce the number of rear-end collisions between the
trucks and other vehicles, according to research at Rensselaer's
Lighting Research Center (LRC). More

The Troy Architectural Program (TAP) has earned the Empire
Award for working with Rensselaer on its Neighborhood Renewal
Initiatives, established last year to enhance the livability
of Troy's neighborhoods, foster economic development, and
stabilize property values. More

Christopher
Carothers, assistant professor of computer science, was
awarded a Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award
from the National Science Foundation. Carothers, a Rensselaer
faculty member since 1998, was awarded a five-year, $375,000
grant to study reverse computation in the simulation and
modeling of large-scale networks. His research will lead
to more effective Internet traffic management and congestion
control.
