the Advancement of Science Lecture Series on Science, Mathematics

Susan Smith, clinical
assistant professor of biology, has been invited to participate
in the sixth annual
meeting on Genomics, Epigenomics, Proteomics, and Phenomics
in Drug Discovery and Diagnosis, which will be held
Jan. 28-Feb. 1 at the Lake Tahoe Center. The trip is being

Richard Siegel, the Robert W. Hunt
Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, gave an
invited talk, "Rebuilding the Human Body," at
the second annual Conference on Regenerative Medicine, Cloning
and Stem Cell Biology, held in Washington, Dec. 4.

Roger Wright, professor of materials
science and engineering, and his former student, Corrado
Noseda, have been selected to receive the Wire Association
International's Yokelson Medal for 2001, in recognition
of their paper titled "The Effect of Drawing Temperature
on the Properties and Annealing Response of Copper Wire."
The medal will be formally presented during the WAI's Annual
Convention and Wire Expo in Chicago, June 10.
