Celebrating 100 Years of Rensselaer Hockey
On
Saturday, Feb. 9, Rensselaer will celebrate
"100 Years of Rensselaer Hockey" with a series
of events. The day kicks off with the annual Alumni Hockey
Game at the Houston Field House. The puck will drop at noon
for this free event.
The celebration continues at the Big Red
Freakout Ice House, followed by the 25th Anniversary Big
Red Freakout hockey game.
Ice House begins at 4:30 p.m. in the Heffner Alumni House.
All Rensselaer alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends
are invited to enjoy a buffet dinner before the game, and
get a tattoo or have your face painted by the Red and White
student organization. Ice House attendees can park at the
Heffner Alumni House and take a free shuttle to the doors
of the Houston Field House.
The
Big Red Freakout game featuring the Engineers vs. Clarkson
begins at 7 p.m. Seating is limited for this nearly sold-out
game.
After the game, the free shuttle will return
to the Heffner Alumni House where Ice House attendees can
meet the members and coaching staff of the men's varsity
hockey team and enjoy a cash bar, warm beverages, and dessert.
Reservations should be made as early as
possible, but no later than Friday, Feb. 1. The first 200
registrants receive a "100 Years of RPI Hockey"
commemorative gift.
The Office of Alumni Relations has purchased
a limited number of tickets for the 25th Anniversary Big
Red Freakout game. The tickets are available on a first-come,
first-served basis and are available only to attendees of
Ice House. For more details or to register online, visit
