New Bus Routes Begin Feb. 12.
To ease traffic congestion, noise, and air quality, the Capital District Transit Authority and Rensselaer have announced changes in bus routes in the area near the university.

The 70, 90, and 86 bus routes will be changed, effective Monday, Feb. 12. Buses will no longer terminate at the Rensselaer Union, at the corner of 15th Street and Sage Avenue. The 70 and 90 buses will instead turn north from Sage Avenue onto 15th Street, then proceed to the Houston Field House on Peoples Avenue. The buses will then loop back though campus, via Burdett Avenue, Tibbits Avenue, and 15th Street, before returning to downtown Troy and points beyond via Peoples Avenue.

The Campus Shuttle, the 86, will continue to serve the Pawling Avenue and Rensselaer East campus housing areas, via Tibbits Avenue and Burdett Avenue. It will also traverse campus North and South on 15th Street, between Sage Avenue and Tibbits Avenue.

Maps of the new bus routes are posted at http://www.cdta.org/ and at http://www.rpi.edu/dept/parking. 2/5/01
