* RAA Fellows Award: Dani Bolognesi '63

Dani Bolognesi '63 will receive the Rensselaer Alumni Association (RAA) Fellows Award from the Department of Biology on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at his offices in Durham, N.C.

Bolognesi received bachelor's and master's degrees in biology from Rensselaer in 1963 and in 1965, respectively. He received a Ph.D. in virology from Duke University in 1968.

Bolognesi is chief executive officer and chief scientific officer of Trimeris Inc., a biopharmaceutical company based in Durham, N.C. The company is engaged in the discovery and development of new drugs for the treatment of viral diseases. The RAA Fellows Award honors alumni or friends of Rensselaer who set an example by their professional or personal achievements and by their service to Rensselaer.
