* Out and About: Fed Ex Chairman, President, and CEO Frederick W. Smith, the 2004 William F. Glaser ’53 Rensselaer Entrepreneur of the Year, Visits Rensselaer

Frederick W. Smith, chairman, president, and CEO of FedEx Corporation, spent the day on Rensselaer’s campus Nov. 11.  Following a meeting with students from the Lally School of Management and Technology, Smith delivered a Presidential Lecture on “Challenges of Businesses Competing in the Global Marketplace,” to an audience of students, faculty, staff, the administration, and area business and community leaders. He was awarded the 2004 William F. Glaser ’53 Rensselaer Entrepreneur of the Year award at a private celebratory dinner in the evening.
