Stuart Foster '72 receives Fellows Award

Stuart Foster '72 received the RAA Fellows Award from Robert Spilker, chair of the biomedical engineering department.

RAA Fellows Award: Stuart Foster '72

Stuart Foster '72 of San Clemente, Calif., received the Rensselaer Alumni Association (RAA) Fellows Award from the Department of Biomedical Engineering on Sept. 15. Foster presented a lecture, titled "My Journey in Biomedical Engineering: From Television Sets to Valves" during his visit to campus.

Foster received a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Rensselaer in 1972 and a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Southern California.

Foster is corporate vice president of technology and discovery for Edwards Lifesciences, a global leader in products and technologies to treat advanced cardiovascular disease.

Foster gave the keynote address at a Rensselaer biotechnology affinity event, held in San Diego, Calif., Jan. 14.

The RAA Fellows Award honors alumni or friends of Rensselaer who set an example by their professional or personal achievements and by their service to Rensselaer.
