RAA Fellows Award: Paul Alan Bleicher 76
Paul Bleicher 76 will receive the Rensselaer Alumni Association (RAA) Fellows Award from the Biology Department on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the Biotechnology/Entrepreneurship Affinity Event at Biogen in Cambridge, Mass.
Bleicher is founder, chairman, and chief scientific officer of Phase Forward Inc. in Waltham, Mass. Phase Forward Inc. offers Web-based clinical trial data collection and management software and services. Its product, InForm software, is the emerging industry standard and uses Internet technologies to collect and manage essential clinical trial data in an efficient and timely way.

Paul Bleicher 76 will receive the Rensselaer Alumni Association (RAA) Fellows Award from the Biology Department on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the Biotechnology/Entrepreneurship Affinity Event at Biogen in Cambridge, Mass.

Bleicher also is assistant professor in the Department of Dermatology at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He serves as chair of the Drug Information Association Steering Committee of North America and the technology columnist for Applied Clinical Trials, Research Practitioner, and the Dermatology Online Journal. He is a member of the Drug Information Association Board of Directors. Bleicher was named the New England Entrepreneur of the Year in the category of Health & Science Technology by Ernst & Young LLP in 2002.
Bleicher is a member of the School of Science External Advisory Committee and served as the keynote speaker at Rensselaers New York City Entrepreneurship Affinity Event in November 2002.
Bleicher received a bachelors degree in biology from Rensselaer in 1976 and an M.D. and Ph.D. in microbiology/immunology from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He was also trained in internal medicine and dermatology at Harvard Medical School.
The RAA Fellows Award honors alumni or friends of Rensselaer who set an example by their professional or personal achievements and by their service to Rensselaer.
