The document provides responses to the comments
made during the public review phase and details what the
Institute will do to mitigate impacts such as traffic, parking,
stormwater runoff, emissions, etc.
"This action does not mean that the
commission agrees with everything that's in this document,"
said Planning Commission Chair William Rourke. "It
means that the issues have been addressed by Rensselaer
and the document is ready for final action by the commission."
The Planning Commission agreed to accept
comment from the general public through Thursday, Jan. 3,
2002.
Following public review, the commission
will make a final determination on the FGEIS and will detail
what additional mitigation of environmental impacts, if
any, will be required by the city.
A copy of the FGEIS is available for review
at the Visitor's Information Center and at the office of
Campus Planning and Facilities Design in the Service Building.
