Trustees Approve $255 Million Construction Project
The Institute's plan for new construction totaling $255 million has been approved by the Board of Trustees. The plan calls for building a center for biotechnology and interdisciplinary studies, a center for electronic media and performing arts, a parking garage, a boiler plant, a chiller plant, and related improvements to campus landscaping and infrastructure. Rensselaer Launches Homebuyer Incentive Program
Rensselaer has launched its Homebuyer Incentive Program, offering $5,000 to qualified homebuyers who purchase a home in the neighborhoods directly north and south of campus. The program is part of the university's Neighborhood Renewal Initiative outlined in the Rensselaer Plan.

  Venture Opportunity Competition Winners Announced
Five teams have been selected as winners of this year's Venture Opportunity Competition (VOC). The VOC is the precursor to the Rensselaer-Lucent $25,000 Student Business Plan Competition held in April. The winning teams received $1,000 that they can use toward further business development.

Commencement Returns to Campus in 2002
Commencement 2002 will return to campus Saturday, May 18, beginning at 9:30 a.m. on the Harkness Field. President Jackson will host a campuswide picnic lunch for graduates and their families immediately following the ceremony. A Web site has been set up to provide complete details on the ceremony, information on related events, and other important dates and facts. More
